real industry briefs real industry pitching real industry publishing

Unseen Galaxy briefs are designed to be worked on over 10-12 weeks. We’ve suggested a structure below but are open to being flexible around your curriculum and schedule. All we ask is that you work with us on timings and be patient whilst we test the concept and listen to the feedback.

STAGE 1: IDEATION

Teams are formed, roles allocated, bright ideas are curated and polished. This is where teams ‘ideate’ concepts and come up with a game which is fun and achievable to make in the allocated schedule.

STAGE 2: GREEN LIGHT

It’s time to pitch your publisher (Unseen Galaxy) to get the ‘Green Light’ to make the game. This will take the form of a concept pitch and be made to the Unseen Galaxy team.

stage 3: production

This is where the work begins, build the game, experiment and iterate. Always checking against your design document. Pitch your playable to industry professionals.

STAGE 4: ITERATION & MARKETING MATERIALS

Make the improvements suggested by the industry professionals and plan your marketing. Create all the assets you need to publish your game on itch.io. Make sure that the game meets the content requirements of Unseen Galaxy and itch.io.

STAGE 5: PUBLISHING PITCH

It’s time to pitch your game and marketing to Unseen Galaxy to get the final go-ahead. Fingers crossed, we love your game and agree to publish it. If you get through, we’ll be sending you a publishing contract to read.

STAGE 6: PUBLISHING ON ITCH

If you are successful this is where you will see your game published. It’s time to engage your audience on Twitter or other channels and get as many downloads as possible.

GAMES DEV - AS REAL AS CAN BE

Unseen Galaxy aims to emulate the games development and publishing process for students from Key Stage 4 (Levels 1-5). Currently, we are trailing the programme but please sign up to find out more below or drop us a line at contact@unseen-galaxy.com
